DACA Health Care Access
Last year, the Biden administration corrected a long-standing injustice, with a regulation making some people with DACA eligible for health care through the Affordable Care Act’s “marketplace” system. Backed by effective outreach, this policy change could help an estimated 100,000 people nationwide to get health care. In March, the Trump administration proposed regulations reversing the Biden policy and denying care to people with DACA.
PIF submitted a public comment uniting more than 250 organizations from more than 30 states in opposing the rollback. That strong showing sends a clear message to the Trump administration that efforts to deny health care access to people with DACA will face real opposition.
