LIFT the BAR Act 2023 Sign-On Letter
For over 25 years, the “five-year bar” has denied lawfully present immigrants access to critical health and social services. Now, you have the chance to join PIF and hundreds of other organizations in calling on Congress for a swift end to the 5-year bar. PIF is circulating a sign-on letter bringing national, state, and local organizations together to push Congress for action. We are accepting signatures on a rolling basis.
The Lifting Immigrant Families Through Benefits Access Restoration (LIFT the BAR Act, H.R. 4170 / S. 2038) was reintroduced in the 118th Congress, led by Representative Jayapal and Senator Hirono. The bill restores access to programs like Medicaid, CHIP, and SNAP by removing the five-year bar.
Check below (Ctrl-F on Windows, Cmd-F on Mac) to see if your organization has already signed. If not, sign today! Thank you for your leadership in the fight to protect immigrant families.
