Adriana Cadena

Adriana has dedicated her career to defending and promoting the dignity and rights of immigrant families in the U.S. Her vision for and commitment to immigrant communities is rooted in her own story as a Mexican immigrant growing up in Texas. Adriana brings over 20 years of experience advancing the well-being of immigrant families through community organizing, public health outreach, advocacy, communications, and organizational leadership. In 2009, she led the creation of the Reform Immigration for Texas Alliance (RITA), a statewide, grassroots-powered coalition that brings diverse sectors together in Texas to both advance policies that honor the dignity of immigrants and defeat those that threaten their human and civil rights. She has worked with several prominent national organizations, including USAHello, the NALEO Education Fund, and the Service Employees International Union. Adriana holds a Bachelor of Foreign Service from Georgetown University and a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas–Rio Grande Valley.
