Director of Policy and Advocacy

Maddie Geschu (they/them/elle) is a policy and community advocate with a track record of building coalition-powered legislative solutions to advance health equity and improve outcomes for children and families. As Director of Policy and Advocacy at PIF, they bring senior leadership experience from Center Road Solutions, where they led federal lobbying portfolios and appropriations strategies across health and family policy — shepherding major provisions into law, including the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act and Supporting America’s Children and Families Act, and securing first-ever funding for a federal newborn support kit pilot. Maddie co-founded the Wraparound Emergency Childcare Advocacy Network (WECAN) and the National Family Resource Center Coalition, earning the Connecticut FRC Alliance’s Friend of the Family Award. Earlier experience includes legislative portfolio work at the League of Women Voters of the United States, policy leadership at OCA–Asian Pacific American Advocates, and health equity campaigns with HHS Office of Minority Health.
