Reconciliation Letter

Nearly 700 organizations from 42 states have signed a letter urging Congress to reject proposals that would cut health care and social services for immigrant families. Coordinated by the Protecting Immigrant Families coalition (PIF) alongside founding members the Center for Law and Social Policy (CLASP) and the National Immigration Law Center (NILC), the letter highlights concerns about budget proposals that would slash essential programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and the Child Tax Credit. With immigrant families making up 27% of U.S. families and one-fourth of all children in the country living in immigrant households, these cuts would disproportionately impact communities of color and deepen existing racial inequities.
