Disaster Recovery Programs and Your Rights
A Guide for Immigrant Families

When disaster strikes, immigrant families are often left out of recovery operations because of lack of language access, confusion about eligibility, and concerns about engagement with Department of Homeland Security staff. Everyone has a right to emergency response and should have access to support to recover.
PIF and partners have developed a one-page flier that helps immigrant families navigate access to disaster response and recovery programs, addressing specific concerns about eligibility, immigration status, and mixed-status families.
All materials are meant to be adapted to your use – add a logo, navigation contact information, and/or personalize the information to best reach your community. The tools include a basic “print-and-go” flier, and social media samples and graphic images.
Materials are available in 9 languages: Arabic, Simplified Chinese, English, French, Haitian Creole, Korean, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese
